After lengthy debate, the EU has reached a tentative agreement on reforming airline passenger rights. In other words, the 2026 travel market is closer to a “relocation period” than a “recovery period”—people will still leave, but not vaguely as before, and will move based on safety, price, accessibility, climate, and local capacity. These changes may present new opportunities for local travel, stay-based travel, and operators with genuine regional experience.
