No more luxury

What a beautiful world it is!
walk to the sky....

Part 1
Like clouds moving in the wind.

day 26, no more extravagance.

Anyway, the next day, I knew that I was in
the hospital due to an accident, and that I had been injured on a road that I shouldn’t have taken, and that I had been visited by a police officer for an investigation, and I could see that my overall condition was improving.

However, the problem is that the big toe is
missing the toenail, the damage caused by the weather and the prolonged exposure to muddy water despite the injury, the infection of the big toe is serious, and the condition does not improve and the pus penetrates into the bone.

Oh my God! There was a hint that he might
be amputated. A long time ago, during an infiltration operation in the army, I learned that it was self-amputation, as a first aid treatment for the trauma of severe inflammation in isolation, and even with a short knowledge of tetanus, I could tell that it was serious.

Still, it was unthinkable to really cut it out, so I had to find a way to do it somehow. First of all, while administering antibiotics, I thought that humidity and hot weather were the most important problems, so I increased the number of disinfection times a day to more than three times.

I was very careful with the bite. But the
actual doctors and nurses clicked their tongues and shook their heads, telling
them to make a decision before it was too late. Still, I insisted on at least a day or two, and two days passed.

The inflammation that had been progressing
to “if it’s oily” stopped progressing, and on the third day, the inflammation decreased significantly, and I began to see new flesh, and the surgery I had feared was finally averted, and I was able to relax at ease.

After all, once the biggest problem was
solved, everything was returning to normal, and it was inevitable that I would gradually become an old patient, eating and playing with the nurses without doing anything but cracking jokes

It didn’t fit my dictionary and my constitution,
so I was starting to get a little sick, and I was robbing myself of my emergency fund for a life that I didn’t have, and I felt that it would be a luxury for me to delay any longer.

I was comfortably in Bualapa, where I didn’t even have a baby, and I was still not fully affected by my big toe, but I managed to walk, so I thought it was time to leave.

In the end, despite being told to stay for a few more days, even though it was the medical staff and the hospital family who had been living together for a few days, it was still very polite, and after saying thank you one by one, on the morning of the 11th day, I finished
eating at the last bedside.

I grabbed some first-aid kits and stuffed
them into my bag, then regrouped and marched to get back to what I was doing. I
chose the yellow clay road that goes up to the north, and I was just about to get out of town when a tiller stopped in front of me.

He said that he was going in the same
direction to a neighboring village about 20 kilometers away, and that he should be accompanied by him. The luggage compartment was already full of children and
adults, but I was so sincere that I quickly squeezed in and climbed on.

Yikes! I stretched my legs out of the tiller on the bumpy field road and settled down, and I walked about five kilometers with the opportunity to lie down and smoke a cigarette. However, I thought that one of the countrymen who was accompanying me was talking about me.

Perhaps he thought I was a foreigner, and
that I only spoke a little Lao, so I was talking casually, but I already understood him well enough. But I pretended not to know, and I didn’t say anything, I just listened.

No, well, they told foreigners to be paid
for burning the tiller, and they were told to charge a lot of it, but the bottom line was that they were going to rip off the tiller. Of course, I couldn’t just listen anymore, so I had to take out a few words in Lao and help.

“Nope! I’m not very busy, but you asked me to ride with you, so I got on this tiller, and of course if you ask me to pay, I can pay for it, but if you ask me to pay a lot, I have to refuse, so it’s okay to drop me off here right now.”

At the level of Lao that I could understand
even though I wasn’t fluent in it, the lady’s face naturally became humble, and then she even looked surprised, and as if it were a matter of course, she said, “There are still about 30 kilometers to go from here to Nong Chan, so how can you go on that foot…

Are you really going to walk?” The conclusion was to pay the money and continue riding, but from the beginning, I felt that it was a business that was given with an interest in the sacrifice rather than the sacrifice, and for a moment I was not grateful.

The more I thought about it, the more I felt a slight fever at the skewering that I was doing more than money, and finally I said, “It’s okay, please get off here,” and set up the tiller. The big toe made him a little worried, but he was upset anymore, so he decided to go barefoot.

However, after walking about 1 kilometer,
my toes rubbed against my sandals, and I
couldn’t continue walking in that state. I had no choice but to take off my shoes and go back to my barefoot youth.

Luckily, it was a fine ochre road that was
not used by cars, so it was nice to feel good on my bare feet, and it was worth walking with less pain due to the cool ventilation. Also, as I walked, I realized that more than the accolades of this local information gathered during the trip,

In a much more beautiful and beautiful
oriental painting, the rivers and mountains, as well as the forests and fields, were welcoming me, making my steps lighter. It’s really a little difficult to compare this road, but isn’t it the way to Mt. Kumgang in Korea, or the road to
the Swiss Alps where there is no white snow?

It was a pleasant illusion. After walking
about 10 kilometers with sandals in each hand, there was a really big river in the way, but there was a paid carving boat used by the natives, and after another 10 kilometers, the river blocked it again.

After all, I crossed in a paid carving boat,
and I was frantically spitting out exclamations here and there about the beautiful mountains, and I became a city villager who was amazed by the Geumsu Gang Mountain. And before I knew it, the dirt road ended, and the asphalt road came out again, and we arrived at Nongchan.

The sun was still shining, so I was able to take an early break, but there was a hospital (public health center) on the side of the road, so I was able to stop by for a while and get my toe treated. I was so grateful to the angels in white, and I remembered the nurse who was the hero of their kindness so beautifully.

Then I found a nearby guesthouse and went to bed. But before I went to sleep, I thought about what I had felt on my travels, that I thought it would be best to refuse the unsolicited kindness of some strangers.

In general, when strangers show too much kindness than necessary, we must anticipate that something is demanding, and we should be on our guard. And speaking of which, if I may add one more word, the people here ask for the location of a certain area, etc.

Rather than saying that most of them don’t know, they just assume that they don’t know, and they pretend to know a lot, and they often get lost, misdo things, or get stumped. In fact, there is almost no traffic between cities between villages, and people who live only in their own territory

He believed that his own information within a certain boundary, and did not consider how certain it was, but simply replied that he knew when asked, and that his credibility and accuracy were ambiguous, and that he should not believe them entirely.

In the end, it seemed right that if you wanted to get some information, you should check with several people and collect it as a reference, and then make the final decision based on your own decision. The truth of human beings in nature depends on the given environment and the case.

It was a heartbreaking reality that I didn’t think about the damage I was causing to the other person, but still, in a gray culture, I lied just to gain favor and be loved, and I even wrapped it up with humility like flattery.

Rather than the ridiculous act of luring and luring others in front of one’s own goals, it can never be compared, but after all, this is a world where people live, and I think it is something that at least a traveler should be aware of.
