Day 64 of my solo trip to Laos…… When the bell rings in the dark. (1)&(2)

Today, I took a bus from Nam Tram (Sieng Kung Province) to Phu Vieng (Luang Franc Ark) and Phu Kun, then walked from Phu Hung Yai to Phu Khun Nai, and then took a bus from Phu Kung Nai to Si Ng An again, all by bus for 130 kilometers and 25 kilometers on foot.

After 12 o’clock, he said, “I’m tired and cold right now, so it’s just tiring for both of us to keep saying the same thing, so please give me a little rest now,” and said, “I haven’t committed a big sin, but I’ll let you sleep at this time today.

Shouldn’t we verify our identity tomorrow morning anyway?” He added. He also said, “There are no cars in the middle of the night, so where will I go?” He made a sudden ceasefire proposal. After all, they were tired too, and now at this late hour,

“How far will you go?” After discussing and saying, “God bless you!” After completing the further investigation, fortunately, it was impossible to keep him in a protective room, and he took me to a guesthouse, right next to the police station.

“I’ll pick you up again at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning” and told them to rest. I was afraid to say anything, so I quickly said, “Okay,” and without looking back, I went into the room and closed the door. Of course, I told the guesthouse owner and employees, “I’m going to pick him up tomorrow morning,

Where can you keep it?” I could hear him asking. Anyway, everything is over, and I can sleep in bed for the time being, but no matter how much I think about it, even if my identity is confirmed at the Korean Embassy tomorrow,

I couldn’t sleep as I felt that I wasn’t the kind of person who would catch any tricks and send them away. Lying down, concluding that there is nothing good about doing this here and now, I jumped up from my seat and made sure that the surroundings were quiet.

I opened the door slightly and looked at it carefully. Fortunately, no one was in sight, including police officers or employees, so I was able to confirm my safety first. However, if the identity verification is delayed at the Korean Embassy in Vientiane, which is far away tomorrow morning,

I couldn’t sleep because I thought that the scuffle would be re-aired again. No matter how tired I was right now, I was shuddering at the thought that there was nothing good for me to sleep and wake up comfortably here.

Then, if it was an unwinnable war, I thought of the famous Chinese classic “Sun Tzu’s Art of War,” which says that the 36 lines of rope corridors are the best and concluded that I would try to escape from the planet and escape from Shoshank. When I looked at my watch, it was already past 1 a.m., so

Considering the early morning culture in Laos, which is in the middle of the day, it is not easy to run away, and there is no reason to think about it anymore, so I quietly put on my backpack and crept up, and decided to go until there was really no thief cat and carefully walked out of the guesthouse door.

Fortunately, I succeeded in getting out of the guesthouse without anyone finding out. Then, without looking back, he began to go back the way he had been captured. He was almost at the level of an alert player, and he was just determined to get out of it somehow.

Then, to succeed in “escaping from Shosak” unconditionally, it was urgent to stay as far away from the police station as possible, so I thought that I had to get out of the city and go in the direction of Namcha first, so I didn’t look back, and I didn’t care about hunger and fatigue.

I took out all the strength I could to suckle and walked quickly. Fortunately, I took a long nap, so I was able to endure it, but sometimes when I encounter a crowd or car lights, I have already learned from yesterday’s evening experience and quickly get off the road, hide in rocks or trees, etc.

I looked around for a while to make sure there was nothing wrong, then climbed back onto the road and walked repeatedly. I felt like I was filming some kind of ‘fugitive’ movie. While desperately escaping at about 5~6 km per hour, I really did a good job of not giving me the original passport.

I thought that I was very lucky to be able to escape like this. It was probably because Da-myeon would not have thought of running away after his passport was taken away. However, the biggest problem was that if he was caught, he would naturally add a crime, so he had no choice at all.

The only way to live was to escape. As I walked frantically and finally couldn’t tell where I was, but somewhere I woke up at dawn and a bell was ringing in the dark. It was clear that the bell was very welcome.

I thought that if it was the bell of a nearby temple, it was at least a sign that the boundaries of Ponsaban were gone. I finally vaguely guessed that I had arrived safely in Namcha, and despite my extreme fatigue, I was smiling with conversion.

Also, I couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief because I had walked more than 40 kilometers all day yesterday and through tonight until dawn, even if I had been staying up all night.

Eventually, the day was completely dawning, and I was rather anxious, but before I knew it, the distant dawn was rising, and I wondered if there was no way to die here, and thankfully, the fog rising from the great lake of Nam Cha was thick,

The visibility was less than 10 meters, and it seemed to hide me tightly, wrapping my tired appearance and helping me escape. Now, before the dawn breaks, before the fog passes, hurry up and pass through the village, and after a little further crossing the border of Sieng Quang and entering the main border of Luang Prabang, we will enter the island.

I decided to do my last bit and focused on maintaining the speed of my steps. But on the other hand, I’m not really a heinous criminal, and I won’t come to catch him beyond the main border, so if I walk a little harder,

Today, I thought I would be able to get out of this crisis, and while I was already picking a pleasant champagne, I was alone in the dawn of an ownerless boat on the shore of Nam Cha Lake in the distance, through the white mist of water.

Even the loneliness and loneliness, the sleep that was so quiet was peaceful, but when I saw them that I didn’t know how to move, I was so comfortable and peaceful that I was jealous, and I was starving since yesterday, and I couldn’t sleep at all.

I even resented that peace. After a while, as the fog lifted, the dawn reminded me of how hard it had been to rise over the mountains, and morning was always coming to the deprived fields.

Finally, we crossed the border of Sieng Guangzhou. I was arriving at Phu Bieng in Luang Prabang. I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief in my escape, but above all, when I thought about how much I had walked more than 60 kilometers since yesterday morning, it seemed like an unbelievable fact even if I thought about it.
